Heavy Duty Plug Tip Irons
Hexacon's Heavy Duty series of Plug tip irons are the most rugged irons available for industrial soldering applications. They are specifically designed for continuous operation and fast heat recovery. The element outer case is machined from a solid piece of high strength, nickel plated alloy steel and is practically indestructible. The hexagonal case shape allows iron to be held in a vise or gripped with a wrench for maintenance without damaging it. A front nut helps to secure the tip but also absorbs shock when iron is put in holder extending element life. Deflector assembly helps to provide a cool comfortable handle, well balanced with good directionality. Power ranging from 100 to 550 watts. Dependable, rugged, and easy to maintain, the tip, element, cord and handle of each HD Plug Tip Iron is independently replaceable. .
Features
Nickel wound heating element insulated with high dielectric Mica wound on a conductive Brass core. All Hexacon elements are built with a +/- 2% resistance tolerance, fully burnt-in to stabilize wattage, and dielectric-tested at 1200V in order to allow consistent idling temperatures, fast recovery, and long life.
Burn resistant, extra-flexible, neoprene power cord with wattage identification will withstand accidental contact with iron at operating temperature.
Three-wire, grounded construction for operator safety. Posi-Ground option ensures less than two millivolts steady state leakage for MIL-equivalent use and component safety.
Painted hardwood handle
Heat deflector discs for added handle cooling
Corrosion Resistant Nickel Plated Hexagonal case
Long-life, Standard Hexacon Tip
Applications
-Heavy duty electrical soldering
-Large connections and ground planes
-Light to medium sheet metal work
-Automotive and plumbing applications
-Roofing
Hatchet irons reposition the center of gravity closer to the hand producing less turning movement on the wrist and shoulder. All of the work is done by the forearm helping to reduce operator fatigue.
• The case is machined from nickel- plated alloy steel and practically indestructible.
• Protective front nut will absorb the impact and shock that would otherwise damage the element whenever the hot iron is dropped into the holder
• Hardwood handle
• Three wire, hi temperature neoprene power cord
